World Oceans Day Events
Among the Ocean Wise events to celebrate World Oceans Day is a beluga-inspired yoga workshop with SeaChoice led by yogi, ocean lover, and blissologist Eoin Finn
Join us for the following Ocean Wise events on Friday, June 8, 2012:
8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Beluga-inspired yoga adventure with Ocean Wise and SeaChoice. Tickets: $50
6:30 p.m. reception; 7 p.m. dinner Ocean Wise dinner with executive chef Ned Bell at YEW Restaurant, Four Seasons Vancouver. Tickets: $160 (includes food, wine, gratuity and tax)
Did you know that overfishing is one of the greatest threats to our oceans today? An estimated 90 per cent of all large fish are already gone from the world’s oceans. Although overfishing is a serious issue, it is one that you can help reverse. This World’s Oceans Day on June 8, 2012, you can take part in efforts of the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program – a national conservation initiative committed to educating and empowering consumers about the issues surrounding sustainable seafood – to raise support for our oceans.
On June 8, join Ocean Wise and SeaChoice for a beluga-inspired yoga adventure from 8 -10 a.m. in the underwater beluga whale viewing area of the Aquarium. Refresh your body and mind with an invigorating yoga workshop led by yogi, ocean lover, and blissologist Eoin Finn while majestic white belugas swim in the background. Enjoy a healthy breakfast provided by Choices Markets, as well as global hip-hop and organic beats from DJ Tspoon (Delhi 2 Dublin), Rupinder Sidhu (Banyen Roots), and Ndidi Cascade. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased here. All funds directly support Ocean Wise and SeaChoice.
Executive chef Ned Bell of YEW Restaurant at Four Seasons Vancouver, an Ocean Wise partner, will feature a sumptuous Ocean Wise dinner on June 8.
In the evening, join critically acclaimed YEW restaurant at Four Seasons Vancouver and the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program for a sumptuous ocean-friendly dinner as Ocean Wise welcomes YEW restaurant as a new Ocean Wise partner. Executive Chef Ned Bell will feature Ocean Wise menu selections – paired with premium wines – that are inspired by the oceans of the world: Arctic, Indian, Pacific, Atlantic, and Southern.
Reception will open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $160 each (includes food, wine, tax and gratuity), and reservations can be made by calling 604-609-5480 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A portion of the proceeds will support the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program.
